Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault. Colossians 1:22 (NLT)
This verse brings such healing to my soul.
Maybe the enemy has been whispering lies to you too, telling you that you’ve gone too far to be reconciled, that your disobedience or mistakes have disqualified you. And maybe, from a human perspective, it even felt reasonable to believe that.
But God is saying something different: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened (with sin). There is grace and mercy for you here.
But it doesn’t end there.
Colossians 1:23a (NLT)… But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News…
This is where daily commitment comes in.
But these are written so that you may continue to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in him you will have life by the power of his name. John 20:31 (NLT)
You must continue to believe. You must stand firm. And one of the most powerful ways to do that is through ‘meditation’.
So how do you meditate on God’s Word?
There are many ways, but here are a few simple ones to help you keep His truth close, especially when life gets busy and your mind starts to forget:
- Write it out. Post it on your wall, your mirror, kitchen, or anywhere you’ll see it daily.
- Put it on your screen. Stick it on your computer or laptop where your eyes often wander.
- Pray the Word. Turn the verse into a simple prayer or declaration.
- Set a daily alarm. Set a Scripture as a daily reminder so you can take a moment to think about it.
- Internalize it. Repeat it until it becomes part of you, until it’s ringing in your heart even as you fall asleep.
Find what works for you, but above all, ask the Holy Spirit to help you.
John 14:26 NLT
But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative-that is, the Holy Spirit-He will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.
He is the best and ultimate guide, the One who leads us into the life we’re meant to live as renewed, redeemed, and reconciled children of God.
One more important thing…
Perhaps you’re reading this but haven’t yet accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. I want to encourage you to surrender your life to God’s unfailing love today. He loves you and wants to give you a new heart and life.
Make this confession below…
Lord Jesus, I acknowledge and confess You as my Lord and Saviour today. I believe You came to die for my sin and rose again that I might have abundant and everlasting life.
Please, come into my heart today and fill me with Your love and Holy Spirit.
I declare that I am saved, free and born-again. Thank You for saving me in Jesus name. Amen!
If you said this prayer, and would love me to pray with you, please leave a message or email me on devotional@thepotterspen.co.uk.
Be blessed!
